Die Sitzmenschen

"Die Sitzmenschen" highlights the contrasts between passivity and activity, social engagement and laziness, and is an invitation to reflect on our own contrasts, on shades of gray, on being part of a less than perfect society, on rebelling against some things but being complicit in others.

The piece does not try to limit itself to calling comfort passivity bad, but sees itself as a starting point to think further. It invites the subsequent audience discussion about our own human contradictions.

Written and directed by Cristian Javier Castaño, literary scholar and tango teacher.
