The following day/ Der folgende Tag
About a year after the successful theater debut of "Colors," the Dresden theater group Past Continuous is releasing a new play. "The Following Day" premiered at the Intercultural Days of the City of Dresden in October 2022 at Theaterhaus Rudi.
The protagonist embarks on a journey through human experience, starting from powerlessness and frustration. It is the journey through a world full of exotic characters, where the boundaries between victims and perpetrators are blurred. The protagonist is challenged to overcome "tail-biting" patterns in order to make a different future possible. Themes of immigration and melancholy, encouragement and discouragement, and dream and reality can be found in the play.
Past Continuous is a project of the Cellex Foundation Dresden, which has been promoting cultural participation, international openness, tolerance and international understanding in the city on the Elbe for many years. The theater group is made up of people living in Dresden from different parts of the world, from Afghanistan to Venezuela, and is always happy to welcome new members. In the meantime, more than 80 women and men take part in the meetings and rehearsals, play along or design the stage "to convey a message of love, tolerance and respect," as project manager Cristian Javier Castaño explains. Born in Argentina, he is an author and director.
